Chefs Donate Time & Talents at Saskatoon School

December 15, 2015

Chef Everett Nelson Chef Everett Nelson and Sous Chef Michelle Mamer of the Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon lent a helping hand to a local Saskatoon school in December of 2015.

The Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon‘s Chef Everett Nelson and Sous Chef Michelle took part in the Care & Share Program at Caroline Robins Community School. Care & Share is a local organization that works in Saskatoon’s community and inner-city schools, bringing “joy to the lives of less-fortunate children in Saskatoon.”Food Line

Over 500 happy faces enjoyed a delicious lunch of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries and buns. The food was donated from local suppliers like Prairie Meats and Gordon Food Service. All labour, food prep and gravy were donated by our very own Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon! After spending time to prepare and cook the food, Chef Everett and Michelle hopped on the school bus to Caroline Robins to set-up and serve the students and staff. For some of the students, this will be the only holiday meal that they will have this season.

“The Care & Share Holiday Lunch has become a tradition in the schools and the children look forward to the celebration each year.” – Care & Share Saskatoon

It is amazing and heartwarming to see the looks on the children’s faces. Since early 2000, the Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon has always been proud and excited to be an important part of this event.

Thank-you to the Chefs for donating your time, local suppliers for donating food items, the Care & Share Program for organizing the event and to the staff and students at Caroline Robbins School for welcoming the Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon as a partner for this event.
