February 1st, 2013

Saskatoon, SK

Jaret Waddell, Vice President of Operations with Airline Hotels announces the company’s continued expansion with the purchase of the Travelodge Edmonton West property located in Edmonton, Alberta. With this purchase, Airline Hotels owns and operates eight hotels in four provinces.

“Continuing to grow our business is one of our key objectives and we have a strong appetite to be in the West Edmonton market”, said Waddell. “This acquisition will prove to be a great fit with our existing properties and we’re excited to meet the associates working at the hotel – our new family members”, said Waddell. Airline Hotels will continue operating the hotel with a franchise agreement with Travelodge Canada. “We value the partnership that has been built with the Travelodge brand. We have been working together to create exceptional guest experiences since the signing of the franchise agreement for the Travelodge Saskatoon property in 1972”, said Waddell.

“The latest acquisition of Travelodge Edmonton West by Airline Hotels is exciting news for the property and the Travelodge brand,” said Steven Robinson, President of Travelodge Canada. “We are excited about their commitment to upgrade this property and offer the same kind of high quality guest experience we have all been accustomed to in their hotel at the Travelodge Saskatoon,” Robinson added.

The property is located only minutes from West Edmonton Mall. Guests traveling for business will find easy access to Atchison district as well as downtown. The hotel has 220 guestrooms, onsite restaurant and a 2 storey waterslide and pool area. In the coming year, Airline will uphold the reputation it has earned by making capital improvements to the property. Guests can expect some immediate improvements to the property to be followed by a substantial capital improvement plan which will meet and exceed expectations.

Airline Hotels will begin operating the hotel on February 1st, 2013.
