Mary McLellan, General Manager of the Valhalla Inn Thunder Bay, is pleased to announce the official Grand Opening of Runway 25 Steaklounge in its new location on July 10th, 2014. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 5:00pm.
“This is an exciting time for us to be able to open the doors of the new Runway 25 Steaklounge to our guests and the community. With (Thunder Bay Airport) YQT’s Runway 25 right outside our back door, we adopted an aviation theme to the restaurant with many unique features, affording our diners a front row view of airplanes coming and going. Executive Chef, Herbert Kraus, and our top culinary team have created some culinary offerings that you won’t find anywhere else in Thunder Bay! Fasten your seat belts, Thunder Bay, we’re preparing to take you to new heights in dining!”
In January 2013, the Valhalla Inn experienced a devastating fire in our then Timbers Restaurant. For the last 18 months, Timbers Restaurant & Runway 25 have been sharing a space to ensure that our guests have been able to receive the variety of choices in high quality food that has been associated with the Valhalla Inn. After careful consideration, it was determined that Timbers Restaurant is best located in the central area of our hotel and Runway 25 Steaklounge would be moved to the exterior space for direct access for the residents of Thunder Bay.
With 96 seats, the extensive renovation including community tables and an open concept kitchen, Runway 25 is poised to be Thunder Bay’s newest dining hotspot.
